Wheels - will these fit?

Post by TigSig »

hey, new member here guys.
Sorry, similar topic has probably been done to death but was wanting to get some wheels for my '80 sig. I found some i like which are off a Corolla/180sx but most likely wont fit. Any chance these would fit???

They are 114.3 Stud Pattern.

16" by 7" front 8" rear. +30 Offset All Round

front 205/50

hmmm i think the sig offset to memory is +28 and there 4x114??some1 correct me if im wrong.? i bought 19" wheels to suit a silvia and they fitted on the back of my sig with no troubles but the front wheels needed the hubs machined a lil bit to fit that extra lip on the cars hub..(if that makes any sense)??

I am not sure about the 1980 model, but the JA Starion front struts (I assume the GJ-GN is the same) would be able to fit a 9" wide wheel with +0 offset. This is because the space between the hub and the strut is just over 4.5" or 114.3mm. A 7" width for the front is 177.8mm wide. Half the width, or the space required if the wheel had an offset of +0, would be 88.9mm. You add the offset of 30 which would make it 118.9mm. The wheel might just miss the strut, but the tyre on that wheel would rub.

The space needed between the hub and strut for a 205 tyre on a 7" wheel with +30 offset would be 132.5mm.

Did some more measuring and calculating, and the distance between the strut and hub is 115mm, hub and outer wheel arch is 135mm. With those measurements, you could probably get a 9" wide wheel with -20 offset and 245 tyres to not rub on the struts, and not stick out past the wheel arches. You'd probably have to roll the guards though.

If you have a 1980 Sigma, GH I assume, do some measuring, and you'd get a better idea of what clearances you have.

they are talking about 114.3 as in the pcd (distance between wheel studs).. not the space between the hub and the strut
