Galant brake upgrade

Post by EVL076 »

i am running AU rotors, that have been redrilled to suit the galant hub
there is plenty of room for the 4 x 114.3
Volvo 4 pots calipers, with a custom bracket to suit the galant strut

got these off a mate, with all the hard work already done :D
but looking at the bracket, its pretty simple to do

the rotors needed machining to fit the calipers
and it works out to 2mm that needed to come off
but thats bugger all, they are still meaty as,
and way larger than the galant brakes...
she should stop alright now then

i will get some pix

Sounds interesting.
If those Volvo 4 pots are the same as the ones on my 73ES I hope you NEVER have to rebuild them

Sounds interesting Brett, looking forward to some pictures.

So these have been adapted to the standard galant legs? (the tooth picks ?)

funnily enough, i was talking about this tonight

no wont be using the original studs, they will be upgraded before it all gets bolted up and installed
new studs will be way longer than factory, and way fatter than the toothpicks that galant use
the stud holes will be enlarged on the pepperpots to accommodate

which reminds me, i still need to get some pix lol

Hey Brett have these rotors been machined to suit a certain pair of bearings that will allow the AU Rotor to bolt straight onto the Sigma stub axle?

Or have other mods been made?

Do you know the particular model of Volvo the calipers are from mate?
