We had to use A008RS in NSW, whilst tyres were still free in every other state, back then. The dunlops and the falkens were about 1.5sec alap faster than the yokies.

there is a bit of difference between the 008r abd the 48r and I think the early tyre was better as a dry tyre the latter in the wet
and 450Lb might have been good when my car was taily but since we have the rear working better the heavy spring would turn the car into an understeering POS
I know with my sigma I couldn't use anywhere near a 450 Lb front

Hello guys , Ive been Looking at some QA1 Coil Springs and Sleeve kits, what do you reccemmend for a GH Sigma with a ummm sr20det Engine for Drag Racing , I will be kicking 17 or 18'' wheels when im not racing though, I see theres Variable Rate Springs and Linear Type, which will suit my application? my choices are

1. QA1 10-225/475 Variable Rate

Is this what I need??? What is the OD of GH green struts??? If I am converting stock struts to coil over why can't I use my GC Galant struts??? Is it worth updating to GH Greens???

sorry dude but every green strut ive seen is 54mm OD
so you need a sleeve thats 54 ID with like a 60mm x 2mm exturnal thread

I get that these are the wrong size but what I am asking I guess is, are these suitable for the money? And what sort of spring rate would you guys reccomend for a sport/road going GC Coupe?? Cheater, Panda??

Mr D has Audi koni inserts in his, needed 40mm off the strut for them, and there externally adjustable.
Will order some of these shocks this week unless someone can see a problem with them or has a better option?

I would also be interested in one of these kits and can any body tell me what is the advantage of green struts these are getting hard to come buy and I was looking at using gk struts in my LA lancer as I have picked up a pair for next to nothing

The green strut has a factory adapt aftermarket or bigger calipers a bit easieror plate between the strut and caliper, the black struts bolt directly to the caliper. It makes fitting aftermarket or bigger calipers a bit easier.

thanks for clearing that up my car is not going to be for racing, I just wanted the brake upgrade to keep the engineer happy when I put the 2.6 in and as the engineer said if they are ok for the sigma they wont have any trouble pulling up my lancer

So I am having some minor suspension issues and I have narrowed it down to the commodore inserts being slightly too long for my coil overs.
Am I correct in thinking that camira inserts are identical except shorter?
Same diameter insert?
Same thread at the top?
Same gland nut as the commodore?

I though the easy solution would be to get a gland nut with longer thread but I asked Pedders and they said they are all the same length just diameter changes.
Is this correct or can someone recommend a longer theaded nut?

Im running camira inserts jason, use the camira gland nuts, just the strut tube needs shortening. Let me know if you need more info

I had the gland nut on the driver side come loose
I have removed both struts and while they are both GH green's the bases are actually different. One makes the insert sit about 10mm higher so the nut only screws on a few threads. I figure if I change them for Camira inserts I will need to space the passenger side up 10mm but at least both nuts will screw down tight

When I did mine I cut approx 50 mm out of the strut tube. Minw is bloody low though, especially with the 16's...

Hi guys I went with the sleeve kits that Otomoto sell and they fitted fine over the sigma struts the keepr/helper spring is also handy on low cars that you keep jacking up, their adjustable camber kits can also be cut down and drilled to fit into a lancer.

I had a pair of green struts but found doing the brake conversion on the none green (two bolt type) struts was easier for a brake conversion, it just required a simple dogbone style bracket.
