I'm looking for firmer shocks for the rear end of my gc, can someone please tell me ones that bolt straight in without having to modify anything and prices aswell?

KYB Excel-G..... part no. 343060

Says "wagon" but I ran them in the back of my GB sedan and they fit fine, and work pretty well.

I have the KYBs in my hardtop and they are awesome. Those shocks and nolathane bushes and you nearly forget how shit the stock springs are, lol

While you're at it, stick a set of these in the front struts .....

Moderately good quality suspension all round for less than $100 a corner = bargain !!

I ran this setup in the rally car for 3 seasons without drama, before I upgraded to Bilsteins last year.

Does anyone know if the kyb need any other parts to bolt in or do they just come out of the box and go straight in? Asking because the standard shocker I have has a little housing for the bolt to slide into at the top and the kyb doesn't. Should I be worried ? Here's a pic

You will need to make or use the crush tube out of the old shocks

I have used the grinder to cut one out before, lol.
But this time I just made new ones as the new mounts I made were narrower than the factory mounts.

A good dose of CRC will loosen it, if you let it sit for a while. To get it into the new shock rubbers, lubricate with dishwashing liquid (less messy than oil !)
