skyline shock insert in gh struts..

Post by GLANT »

Simple question, need to capture lowered springs in a gh strut, will the skyline/pintara struts do it? With only a spacer, either top or bottom.... to make shock secure in strut body? Also does skyline strut bolt to gh strut top?

Yeah lots of speculation, really want to know for definite.... engineer does not want cut and shut struts, and rwc wants captured spring.. I'm hoping someone has done it, and knows for sure it can be done.... I have to order shocks in and there is no return if they are not right.... just cant afford to mess up.
If only there where low shocks for a sigma available! But there are not...
I know they're shorter in body length, spacers are no prob, might do 20mm bottom and 20 top, but at this stage I really want solid proof they fit strut tubes and strut top.. as specs are impossible to find on the shockers.

Thanks mate for your input :-)

It is what they use in the starions so can't see there being to much of a problem I have a set of KYB agx sitting here waiting to be fitted to my lancer just need to find the time to do it.

i used camira inserts on my race car, about 50mm was cut out of the shock tube.. whos gonna know its been cut if you put coil over sleeves over the weld? and theres no issues cutting aqnd shutting them if they are welded propperly

I have Skyline/Pintara inserts in the Starion Struts on my wagon. But I cut about 40mm out of the strut tube, just below the thread. I used the GN Sigma strut tops and they bolt straight onto the Skyline inserts.
