disc brake conversion

i recently bought a GD galant with front disc's and wondering if i cant get it on the road for any reason is it possible to put them in my GC that currently has drums?

yep it will go in the GC, i would just change the whole strut assembly over

interesting tho, your GC has front drums?

I thought only the GA had front drums. I have owned every model and only ever seen the drums on the ol GA

Interesting.
I have a manual that says some GAs had drums on the front, but Ive never seen one...

My GB has drums and the GC I was going to buy unfortunately has drums too.(The GC is a GL spec too)

arent they all drum?

check ur brake calipers guys bet most of them say Sigma I or Sigma II


i may be wrong but as far as i know mine were exhanged cus they had drum brakes?

All of my galants, all 8 of them have had discs.
GA, GB, GC's and GD....
I've never seen one with drums..... go figure....

maybe they offered both?

They did.
They show both in the workshop manual I have, but I've just never actually seen any with drums.
I actually thought maybe they hadn't brought them to Australia, but seems I'm wrong.

gc coupes came out with drums maybe then? well mine had drums apparently so im told... but gcs were made in japen and imported right?

na coupes had disk standard (fronts were talkin bout right?)
my coupe has stock disks, and so does my sedan, but my yellow GC i had before had drums and it was the biggest heap of shit to drive ay...

My GA had front drums, blooddy scary! Got gb disks now, they are ok, pulling up from 165k down sandown straight. Cast iron calipers are bloody heavy though!
1972 GA GALANT/COLT, with a VR4 4G63T 151kw atw :-)

I currently have 5 galant and never seen any with drums on the front ever.

no they werent boosted, my only booted galant is my current coupe

My GB is unbooosted all drums...now another question, are Lancer struts the same as GB ,I can get Lancer struts with discs and master cylinder for a carton.(Its a 78 or so hatch if that helps..)
