Scorp Diff Conversion

After popping my standard GC diff on a quick change from first to second, and having a GL Scorp diff kicking around, I've decided to do the conversion.
Just a couple of question though... Does the tail shaft have to be shortened? I've got the diff sitting in position, and to me, the shaft hasn't got much travel
in the gearbox before bottoming out. What ratios are available for them? I've got an L300 centre with a 4.6 ratio or the standard 3.3 Scorp ratio. Isn't there something
in between? Thanks for your help

I didn't think any Scorps had borgys? Every one I've seen is Jap banjo. It's 10 bolt out of a 85 GL Scorpion BTW.

There's nothing in between and they are all open centre.

If its a 10bolt (2.6L-GH onwards) there are quite a few ratio's available

3.33, 3.55, 3.93, 4.222, 4.675, 4.825.

If you have a hunt threw the early to mid 80's Mitsu's (L200, L300,pajero, scorpion, starion) you will find the ratio you need.

LSD's will be an issue, Starion and Pajero fit the case, but you can't get side gears to suit the scorpion axles.

I did all the research for this stuff in the mid to late 90's. When we were looking for ratio's for my IPRA Lancer back then.

Hope this helps......
