4g63t on to autogearbox

Post by vr4galant »

Hello
Just wondering if a standard gd galant gearbox which is automactic bolt up to a 4g63t engine. What modification would be needed?

Borg boxes aren't great. Maybe the 904t out of scorpions would be better (still don't know if they'd like a ton of horses pushed through them without being beefed up...) As for it bolting up, don't know about that either!

904 out of a scorpion is narrow block patterm so yes it would bolt up to an early series 4g63 (evo 1-3, vr4 or rvr)

...had a feeling- scorpion engines being jap spec and '63t being the same deal.

And there's your answer! Nice. I liked the N/A 2L- 904 combo I had in my GD wagon. Good all round performance, nice and strong.

The money you are going to spend to get that box to survive is not worth it a C4 conversion makes a lot more sense or go for Bill Hinchner's powerglide adaptor if you have the room for the chev style box. Good luck.

I've seen this conversion done in an import tuner magazine. Was fitted into a Treuno/Sprinter. The work was immaculate- to the point you'd think it was a factory install.
