im thinking a hilux diff would be pretty straight forward

Theres a certain hilux diff thats the correct width for an RX3 mazda so it would be very close to a galant

Yeah the early hilux had a very narrow diff and from what i've heard a lsd transplant into them is a bolt in affair. I owned a 1975 hilux's about a year ago and from memory the external dimensions of the diff centre were about 8.5 inches. I contemplated keeping the diff and wrecking the rest but ended up selling it for about a grand on ebay. A lot more then i thought it was worth but utes these days go for more then cars of similiar age and condition.

These hilux utes are pretty rare now days and finding a diff is near impossible. I owned it for about 3 years and only ever say one ute like in during that time.

Honestly with the effort required to find one you're be better off just getting a different diff shortened not to mention the drum rear end.
