Shift kit for jap 5 speed?
Shift kit for jap 5 speed?
Hey guys!
I'm wondering if there's a short shift kit for a jap 5 speed??
If not... Could anyone machine me a stock shifter? Shorter than standard and to have my 4 speed knob on it? *nudge* Dave *nudge* haha..
Thanks guys

So... Exactly, what does that one do? Is it like a linkage setup that allows the gear changes to be closer, but allowing the stick height stick?

Re: Shift kit for jap 5 speed?
Nope, the fulcrum, or pivot point of the shifter has been altered so there is less movement required at the top to achieve the same result at the bottom.
You simply unbolt your current top plate and replace it with this one inclusive of the shifter.

I drove a car with one of these and I thought it was actually pretty s*** actually.
I prefer the standard shifter any day, more definition in the distance between gears and less effort needed to shift between gears.
Longer shifter gives you more leverage.
Cheers
