Nitrous on a 4G54

Ok so my question is has n e one had n e sucess with a nitrous on a 4G54 carby, EFI, turbo???

Im loosing sleep over this kit i can buy for dirt cheap but unsure if its gonna do more harm than good in my turbo GJ...

The Turbo G54B LOVES the nitrous! Not sure how the NA block will take it. Make sure to match up the proper plugs and timing.

So what's the stats on your engine and what shot of nos u feeding into it?

Im not running spray. Alot of my buddies do and Im building another motor for spray as we speak. Ranging from 30-125hp hits. What do you want to know?
wet kit/cold plugs/wide ring gap/timing control/free flowing hotside are a must.

Yep ive seen the same thing, fully purged system running a spacer baseplate below the carb. Activator was attached to a switch thas was hit on full throttle

So long as you get it tuned right, you shouldn't have a problem.

I dont know which head your running, but these were all hemi head and 8:1CR and lower setups. You can get away with a much larger turbo aswell. The nitrous will help bring it up to speed. But yes, a good tune is needed. Stay a little healthy on the fuel side.

im thinking just a single jet before the throttle body. Cars already ritch through the rev range according to my wide band a/f guage. Dont think i would go the complete direct port injection, Can guarantee the engine wont cope.
Car is in need of another tune as cold start isnt worth 2 squirts of donkys piss at the moment and ive put a new head on the engine with port work. In saying that im not gonna go 150hp shot, thinking 50ish..??

How do you set the set the timing for nos?

where would you set the timing for say 50hp shot, compaired to 100hp shot?
Do you use lots of advance compaired to standard running conditions?

With NOS as long as you have enough fuel as not to lean out when hit the button, you should be fine. But you do need to retard the ignition.

Don't worry about the bottom end. I read a book at the TAFE library and it states that you can double the horse power of an engine using forced induction (or NOS) and only increase the load on the bottom end by 12%. If you double the horse power of an NA engine by increasing the RPM, you'll increase the load by 300%.

(Now before everyone jumps down my neck, think about how much power we are getting out of stock bottom ends in our Turbos. I know I'm getting about double with no issues)

As for the retarding the Ignition ive got a spare digital input on my Motec M4 so ill get that tuned in to retard it by 4 degrees or so depending on what it shows on the dyno.
Got my bleeder valve and wideband autometer gauge is on its way...
