Hey guys,
I'm new to these forums, been watching for a while though. I have found lots of great info here. I have had a few sig's and a scorp in the past, and now have another astron to play with, however this time its in a Pajero shorty, hope ya's dont mind, haha.
Anyway, i am still chasing a little info on this project, and it is as follows:
- Complete TS motor
- About to be completly rebuilt to factory specs with better pistons, and compression change?
- Running complete TS efi
- Custom exhaust manifold with t25 turbo and 7psi
- Walbro fuel pump.
There is still a few things i need to do, the major one is do i need to drop the factory compression to run 7psi?
I know the bottom ends are quite strong, but i want it to be right. The last NA engine i turboed i just fitted 2 headgaskets and although pretty cheapskate, it did work.
When i replace the pistons, can i get lower comp ones for a TS block?
For now it'll be running the TS computer for a short period, then most likely megasquirt when i can get my head around it. Will the TS computer be ok for a while if i fit a rising rate fuel reg and the above mentioned pump?
How many of you guys have turbo and still run the Magna efi?
Thanks guys, great site, any help appreciated.
Andrew.

Re: EFI turbo TS astron 2 mods.
For 7psi just leave the comp. Its going in a 4x4 and judging by the t25 your not chasing big power... Factory comp ratio will be fine with the right tune be better to drive and less lag.

Re: EFI turbo TS astron 2 mods.
So the factory 9.something to 1 will be fine on 7? Even on the magna ECU?
Yeah i'm not chasing big power this time, just "some" power, haha. For 4x4ing the t25 will be brilliant, but have nothing past 4000 at max i reckon, which it dont get rev'd to anyway.
Cheers fellas, anyone still using magna ecu on turb?

I dont think anyone running a magna ecu with turbo....i wouldnt even bother trying. Aftermarket ecu second hand can pick up something for $500ish on ebay.
By the sound of it just a stock magna setup might be easier and cheaper.
