I picked this engine up a couple of years ago on gumtree. Apparently it was narrow block 2.6 and (possibly) with a late model head. I have had a good crack at breaking down the engine number it dosnt make sense based on the other sticky post I have seen on the forum.
Also I have no idea what the head it off originally. (To confuse the situation I have adapted my original HG sigma intake and carb ignore that)
I want order parts but keen to know what the original car/s are when ordering stuff sigma/magna/other.
Be great if anyone can give some leads?
(Confusing me with the engine number is the (W). did they stamp it upside down ie should be M for astron.
Also the "D", I made a note that it may mean 1995 but I can't remember where I sourced that info from at the time.
Also not sure what the "*" all about at the end
