No Spark 4g54 GE Sigma

Hi guys,

This is my first post ever in a forum. Sorry if I’m not following rules, I’ve tried searching everywhere already.

Hope someone can help.

I have a 79 GE Sigma that had a 4g52 2.0l put in with DOCE carbs. Was working great but got old and needed a rebuild. So I swapped with a 4g54 2.6 carb motor from a GK scorpion which was working great in the Scorpion and pulled out fresh specifically for the swap.

Now the 2.6l is in my GE but isn’t getting Spark.

I’m not sure if that’s because it needs different voltage output from coil or not e.g maybe GE uses 9v but Scorpion 12v?

Any help appreciated, I’ll pay if anyone in Springvale Vic wants to come try and fix.

Cheers,
Joe

First thing is are you using your GE sigma dizzy OR the GK dizzy.
The GE has the ignition module on the inner guard of the engine bay, near the battery where the GK wll have the ignition module on the dizzy itself.

Cheers.

Unilite electronic distributor with an Accel chrome coil. I am running exactly the same setup on my roadster. I tried an MSD coil I had and it sparked the same way.
