So I was thinking about maybe changing the engine oil. Last changed it about 18 months/15000 klm ago. ( only seems like last month )
I went on the Penrite website to check the change interval, and to see what grade of synthetic they recommend for a high Klm engine. I have used Penrite synthetic ever since I had the engine rebuilt (around 2002)
After putting in relevant details into their online calculator..they actually recommend a mineral oil. HPR40 25w70
Thoughts ??

Re: Engine Oil
if it;s any help from an old astron punter - I used HPR 40 in my race engines and never had any problems with it an never any unusual wear
and unlike a road engine was always running past 7000 in all gears
about ever 12 month tear down found the bearings allways still in good nick -- being an oil with Zink still in it is good for sliding surfsces like the rocker gear
even though my old girl is parked up in the shed I would still be using it
