No Idea but usually you would get the cam caps machined down .25mm then line bore the cam bearings.

Do you mean the cam bearing surface or the lobes?

Cheers.

how are the cam cap dowels going to change size if you have the cam ground?? no such things as bearing shells for the cam on a saturn, you need to get the cam tunnel line bored.

They are just grinding the lobes, but they said the cap dowls are not in the best nick but they don't want to grind them as they will be loose in the head. Wanted to see if there was an alternative solution.

Sounds like the cam is in too poor a condition to be successfully reground ? ...... so get another one.

(& I have no idea what you mean by "cap dowels" or "cam dowels", either !)

so you mean the cam bearing surface? that gets held down by the cam caps i presume.

then just get them linished, unless its badly damaged then you get them cleaned up and you can get the caps machined down and tunnel bored as superscan mentioned to suit the cam.
Insert witty one liner here -->
