4g33 interference engine?

Hello all.. Is the 4g33 1400cc sohc an interference engine?
'80 4g33 and a few 80's Chrysler turbos.

YES! Cam chain breaks or slips and its bendy valves time. As me how I know. :roll:

I guess the next question is can you still get valves for these things?

I pulled the cam off and cranked it over. I hear air leaking out of cylinder #4 like a bicycle tire with a thorn in it.

I mic'ed out the height of the valve assemblies and the #4 exhaust valve is coming up short.

Also see white inside the hex heads of the cap screws. Maybe just condensation.

Somebody talk me out of running it like this until it doesn't run no more...

Its going to run on 3 cylinders if you do.

Its running. Not quite as good as before, but it runs fine. I think the idle sounds BETTER than before. :P
