Lancer front lip

Post by krohny »

Has anyone fitted a front lip to an LA lancer?
If so what was it originally off? Was thinking rx3 would work

Sounds good, I'll look into it.
I like the look of the rx3 lip, is more aggressive

i dont know if this helps or not but i thought i'd throw in a couple of suggestions......

The lil rubber lip that the Ford Falcon XE ESP used and the 2-piece 'front wing' that the Ford GTHO Phase 3 had on the front

both these components are readily available as re-pro's at ford shops (as both these models were the top performance models of there era and are now both classic cars and have more and more people restoring them)

I've seen an uber cheap option for a lip too. You could try the wheel arch moulding strip used for flaring out 4WD guards. It's sold by the metre; it's cheap, it's flexible and if you go over a carpark block it won't shatter like a plastic moulding. This will help deflect air around and under the front of your car but obviously won't work as well as a properly designed air dam.

How much lip do you want?
I have this spliiter that was meant for a datsun 1600 but was perfect width for the lancer.

that may be a little too much, looks good though!
im still keen on the look of the rx3 lip, which is probably more for looks than actually to give any advantage..
