This emblem is on the lower left fender of the '78 Dodg Colt I am purchasing here in the U.S. A couple people remember seeing this in the past, but don't know what its origins are or what it's for.

Anyone able to shed some light on this?

Don't think it is Mitsubishi. Looks aftermarket to me.

The 'eagle' emblem is only on one side so my guess it was added by a previous owner...
