Lancer door compatability

Post by Cunjie »

G'day guys, I'm selling a pair of back doors from my LA wreck & I'd like to know what other models/years the doors may be compatible with. I currently have an overseas buyer lined up & want to ensure I don't on-sell something that won't fit. Cheers Cunjie

Pretty sure they are the same as LB sedans, which look to be the same as a Dodge Colt Galant sold in the US, but I have only seen the coupe version over there.

The potential buyer is from the UK and states he has a 1978 Mitsubishi Lancer A72?

Why don't you get them to make a couple of key measurements of their doors. Maybe get some measurements like the size of the window frame, length at the bottom of the door and distance between the hinges. It'd be the easiest way to confirm it is the same size at least.

Thanks guys, I will ask him to pass on the measurements just to be on the safe side. Cheers

Front doors are interchangeable between LA and LB sedans.

Rear doors are NOT interchangeable! As LB sedan has different shaped rear wheel wells to LA sedan. They will bolt on but will not close.

Ok, that's handy to know - looks like it won't be worth his effort & cost then. 8o|

I know this in an old topic - but has anyone checked whether the 2dr doors are same as sedan?
