Factory Radiators

Post by regina »

Howdy,

Has anyone come across any factory, alloy, radiators that look like they may come close to fitting in the lancer/galant engine bay? The closest i have been able to find is off an excel.

any ideas?

cheers,
Mick

your trying to save weight? get a smaler battery instead :) no one has posted anything but you can buy new ones if you can re mortgage your house :z if you really need one go to pick a part and measure or if your lucky try one in a lancer there.

you can buy a ally radiator that bolts in from PWR that are $850
but a HQ 6 cly radiator fits nice and LJ-LC with "little mods"
and you can get cheap rip offs of them of ebay for bugger all
or piss your battery and tray off and go a VQ statesman V8 there
massive though

If you Google "Plymouth Arrow Aluminium Radiator" you'll find you can get bolt in aluminium radiators from North America to fit. eg http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1979-198 ... 2011r29452 and http://www.genesisautoparts.com/all_alu ... -arrow.htm even with shipping given their light weight and low price it might be a realistic option.

If you know the dimensions of the radiator find a NISSENS book and it has all the dimensions of the majority of rads.then look for a second hand one.Suck up to your local spares or workshop etc and borrow the book. There are lots of other brands as well and they all have source manuals.

Yeah, old thread but I didn't know it existed, lol.

In my GC I used a EH Holden alloy rad, hoses on the right side and filled the hole perfectly.
This is the very one;

And here it is fitted

I just took an old LA Lancer radiator down to my local radiator shop and had it re-cored – with a triple-core - for only $350! It's been 40 degrees here in Perth the last few days, and no overheating at all, even when stuck in traffic.

Now if i only had air-con!
