the red, yellow, blue, etc. lancer owners are all buddies, but i haven't seen them at any recent shows

That Black LA Lancer with the SLR5000 Torana bodykit and drop tank was what made me want to buy a Lancer as my first car. I remember seeing it in Newcastle years ago and had the opportunity to buy it for $3500 a few years after its magazine shoot. The car was a shadow of its former self and was VERY ROUGH. Was owned by someone in Metford at the time. Anyhow, I still have the magazine here at home. Ive held onto it now for 20 years!!! Around the same time there was a tough white LA coupe getting about town, owned by a heavy metal dude with long hair who always wore sunnies and a black T-shirt lol.. It was insane!

I first came to Newcastle in 1992, I'm sure there was a metallic green LA as well (I can't remember how if it was 2 or 4 door). I pretty sure it had the flares as well. I seem to remember wondering if it was the black one resprayed?

The White LA 2 door from Newy your talking about is now a bright green rusty heap of shit living under a car cover in meadowbank(sydney).
Still has most of the good Coltspeed gear in it, where it was originally built. But the body is F..KED for less of a better word.

I actually just bought this car on ebay.I also just bought a mint white LA 2 door with 80,000 kms from new.The plan is to probably swap all the running gear over to the 2 door and then re-sell the sedan.Not sure till I get them both home and have a good look.At first I thought the price was too high but when you start adding up the cost of the parts on this car it was a no brainer.Will post some pics when I get both cars home.I am in perth.Cheers Rod.

At first i didn't think it was the same car, but the trim gave it away.

2 Months ago ZOOM magazine had photographs of SIR's Lancer.

Just got my copy of the latest ZOOM (Has Red Skyline with bonnet of on Dyno on cover)
and TRV28 Has a photo of his Lancer at the Drags
