The story of the two LA Lancer 2doors, Centre Road Wreckers

Post by boyracer »

This requires it's own post.
When at Centre Road Wreckers I asked one of the blokes there
"What happened to the two old Chrysler Lancer coupes you had,
did someone buy them or did you crush them?" He said "We crushed
them" I said " uuuuggghhhh" walking away head shaking going crazy.
I have been a bit crazy about this, like I wished I had done something
about it but never did and now then the opportunity has gone, like I'm
agitated and keep rubbing my face in frustation, kind of hopeing the
bloke got it wong and someone did buy them. I did ring when they
were there and asked if I could buy them but all seemed to hard at the
time as weren't on wheels. Uuuuuggghhh MEXICANS.......................
............................................................................................
(some time later).....I'm okay now, not really over it but resigned to it.

Wanted the two but couldn't get a mate to store them.

Have rust problems with mine, need donor car...don't need
bits and pieces just body bits or one of those Filipino sheet
metal men.

I'm not a grief counsellor ...but try not to worry about it.There wasnt a lot you could do about it at the time. Its easy to be wise after the fact :!:

But regarding the "Mexicans" comment , maybe the owner was from New South? :)

I got a similiar story, I saw a two door la in Okay condition about five or six years ago in town here at Nambucca Heads. I approached the driver and asked to buy it however she was not interested as she wanted to run the rego out, I said that's finer I'll buy it then and gave her my number. She never rang and the car disappeared, after some asking around I found out she gave it to her brother and they pacddock bashed it to death !!!!!!! :banh:

If only I had pushed a little and started talking money in the first place Like make her an offer then go up 50-100 dollars at a time till it was done. She had no idea how sought after the car really was. I still think about that blue 2 door all these years later; I could have saved it, it may sound pathetic (IT IS) but it actually makes me sad, I always keep an eye out just in case the story i heard was wrong.
