LC lancer headlight conversion

Post by kodos »

Bought some aftermarket H4 halogen headlights for the lancer but with closer inspection, the originals are not the same. They have the mounting tabs spot welded to the light body itself, not a light and cup style setup like on galants etc.
Anyone had a go at modding these to fit aftermarket lights?

I don't know if this helps but I have the Hella Housings 1024 (see http://db.hella.com.au/cgi-bin/catalogu ... lmaint=808) and the matching Hella Halogen rectangular headlights and they bolt straight in where the original housing fit and the lights are of the same dimension as the originals. I got mine from Blackwoods http://www2.blackwoods.com.au/infoBANKP ... &P=7760078

So aussieblue, are these Hella's a straight swap for the original LC headlights?

Yes; they are and it means you can fit the Hella halogen headlights too. I suspect their availability is something to do with the fact that Mitsubishi used the LC Lancer headlights and taillights in so many of their truck models.

I'm sorry for bringing this thread back sir but I just want to have a review for aftermarket H4 halogen headlights. I'll be buying this headlight for my car.

These are worth considering too http://www.ebay.com/itm/CERAMIC-H4-HI-H ... es&vxp=mtr so the wiring doesn't fail with the heat from the halogen bulbs.

Pretty easy to use the early Mitsi Triton headlights, just needed to relocate a spring or two because both triton buckets were the same each side.My electrician said there would be no problems...so far so good.
