la lancer brake upgrades?

Post by slimer »

I know that the sigma brakes are able to be bolted up, i was just wondering if there are any "bigger" front brake upgrabes out there that will fit, (i have searched but its hard enough trying to find pictures of the diffs etc etc from people taking pictures of their cars etc)

Ahhhh No a siggy Diff wont fit,A sigma diff has coil springs not leaf and they are alot wider than the lancer diff. But the disc's and calipers will fit with some mod's.

Question that goes sort of along with this.
Do lancer LB/ LC hatches have different discs to Galants (would Galant discs be the same as Lancer sedan, I assume so)
LB/ LC hatches have bigger calipers? Yes? Anyone?
If you want any sigma-galant.com stickers, then look here for how to get them sigma-galant.com stickers

The GH sig front struts and brakes are a easy fit, I had them in my 4 door LA

I dont know how much, but cant you can buy disks of what ever size you are chasing as a blank, and then get the stud pattern drilled to what ever you desire??

And LA has Starion struts
and he told me Commodore calipers...?

Again you find the calipers that will suit the size and shape of disk,
and get adaptor brackets made to suit the strut, and brake caliper...

And on the back i think it was Sig rear disks, and Commodore calipers again...
He just had a basic bracket made and welded it to the Diff housing

And he told me The engineer requested using a 3/4 bore diameter Master cylinder, and im sure he told me its off a Nissan Patrol...???

But youll have to check with Engineer, if you plan on going down the legal path

And you can go as big as you want, just have to change you wheels to suit...
Engineer again :banh:

i have already talked to an engineer and he want the rotors about 280mm.
do the sigma rear discs bolt up to the lancer diff or do you need to do some mods to the diff or brakes?
and how big are they?
thanks for such a fast reply dan

yeah i agree, id be looking at upgrading the diff if you are running a 13B
and then you will get bigger brakes anyways...
and then just use those Calipers, and redrill studs to suit your wheels and buy new Disks...

Oh forgot to mention if you use the Starion Struts, they give it an increased Camber!
the Sigma ones dont...

I just measured the Brakes on the old diff, they look to be about that 280 mark, but not sure if they are Sig or starion. Probably sig..??

But yes Sig has same stud pattern, and ill try to take a pick of the adaptor bracket for the Calipers for you if you like.

thanks heaps for all the help i have put a sr20det in the lancer, so engineer says it needs similar brakes as a 180sx.
i looked at the dba catalouge it says it has 280mm front and 258mm rear.
the diff i am using is a vl turbo diff that is already cut down but for some strange reason the person that got it cut down had the standard lancer brakes put on the vl diff :banh: so if i can find something that can bolt up i can save some time and hopefully some money
