LC Lancer Alternator swap

Post by MRGNLC »

Hey guys, im a bit over only an a.m. radio, so before i put my sound system in, i'd like to get some amps, and as the original alt. only puts out 40a
i thought i'd try and mount the spare tr alt. that i have laying around.
i've got the alt. to bolt up nicely, but the pulleys are different. if i make the hole bigger in the LC's pulley, i'm a bit worried that if i modify it and the alt. doesnt work then, its a long walk home from work.
has anyone done anything like this before??

I've done similar before. I modded a TP Magna alt (about 85A) to use in a Scorp. Had to make up a spacer to get the pulleys in line, as well as modding the wiring to suit. Otherwise it was basically a bolt on job.

Beauty! I've got tons of bits lying around the workshop, I'll try it tomorrow arvo after I drill the pulley out.
Thanks for the reply, it helps when you know it's been done before!
