EOI Perspex rear windows, moulded to suit

Post by Billsy »

i am considering getting a perspex rear window made up for my track scorpion in the interest of saving weight.
they are approx 1/8th of the normal weight of glass according to the maker.

would anyone else be interested? likely cost approx $300

Nope. I've heard of some JDM's brought into SA having perspex windows installed and were rejected at inspection. The windows must be able to break in such a way that they don't cause a significant safety hazard and can actually be broken to allow access into a vehicle cabin in the event of a serious collision.

I believe GE/H rear windows are different to the boxier GJ+
I wouldn't think a rear screen would be any more than 15 maybe 18kg's so if you could get it down to 3 or 4kg's it might be worth it.

all ge-gh windows are different to gj-gk windows. although its not legal to fit perspex its not uncommon where you cant find replacement glass, good luck to them shaping that curve unless they vacuum mold it to the glass
