Another issue for me is removal of the front windscreen, have removed the chrome stripping cover but there are metal tabs every so often and I am not sure how to cut through the rubber with these clips embedded all around the screen, do I remove these clips or seek a mobile windscreenguy, the back window was easy to remove.

Hi, the support strip of rubber/steel between the front and rear side windows is total rusted. Will a later model strip fit my older scorp, i am told the later models version is rubber only, any help appreciated.

The rubber on the GE/GH Scorpion is the same as GC/GD Galant. I ordered some new ones yesterday. When they arrive I will let you know if they are just the rubber or if they come with the metal strip.

Steve, I have merged your 3 topics into one as they are all related to the one job of stripping your Scorpion.

With a lot of care.
If they are the same as Galant ones, they clip onto the gutter rail.
They should be in 2 pieces on either side with a joiner (they are usually). Doesn't matter if they aren't.

Remove the joiner if it has one. Then if you start from the rear of the car with a broad screwdriver or something similar, you lever from the bottom of the very end of the strip, coming from underneath the strip past the gutter rail. Once the strip starts to come away use the gutter rail itself to lever the strip. Work along the strip gently and slowly. Once you have enough of the bottom of the strip off the top comes with it.
The strip will develop a gentle curve in it as you take it off, don't worry when it's put back on the gutter rail holds in to shape.
Do not kink the strip or it will be stuffed/damaged.

Did it work?
Did you get them off without damaging them?
