gearbox and engine difference?

Post by tommyhagenb »

Hi.

I'm thinking about buying this car http://bil.autodb.no/autodb/search.wa2? ... mId1469545

It's a 2000 with an auto transmission. I was just woundering if that engine will bolt on my gearbox,I have a 1979 Colt Galant 2000 SL HT 5 Speed. I recon it will since they are both 4G52 engines. Just wanna make sure.

Also, I wounder if I'm correct in saying that the difference between the 2000 GSR engine and my 2000 SL engine is that the GSR has twin carbs vs. mine is a single carb?

If you are certain that white sigma/galant has a 4G52 then it should fit.

This link shows how to check if you are unsure.

Not sure about the 2000GSR vs 2000SL differences though.. we didn't get those model options here in Australia.
