are you sure there was only 5 brought in - I have one that was suppose to be Australian delivered - it's been a rally car for 95% of it's life - I bought it in 1990 - off a guy that had it for 14 years - it's in the stable to be rebuilt at some point in the future - can post up pictures so you know I'm not full of it.

Do you know if the owner used to work for Mitsubishi?

A few of us from the site were talking to a bloke from Adelaide, who was working on the Mitsubishi stand at last years Sydney motor show, who told us he had one and that he used to work for Mitsubishi.

I've always liked the 16L's and that's a very nice example. Ask him if he'd be keen to swap it for a GC Hardtop.

Weird that it's badged as a Dodge (unless that decal isn't original) ?

I'm guessing it's probably a NZ-spec car ? Tail-lights are different to the JDM ones.

Not origional decal or colour. It's ment to be 'Go Mango' simular to 'Hemi Orange' with a Red pin stripe.

The tail light surround is chrome and the centre has been painted.

no ADR plate (assuming its not been removed) means its not been officially imported by Chrysler, more likely imported by a Chrysler Dealer from NZ (looks like an NZ car???) No ADR plate can cause you issues even if you can prove previous rego :(

Edit Chrysler dealers did dodgy imports due to loop hole at the time and also to bring in Lancers before Chrysler did.....
Edit again May not be an NZ car as it has the Dodge/US type side markers, someone who Knows NZ cars better may be able to help, maybe it is a Dodge :)

rego papers say 1973, but no plate makes itt hard to determine if this is correct or not.

No ADR can cause issues, yes. But have all the documentation and Exemption form for it.

Should have a build plate, even if it has no Australian compliance plate ?

Either that, or the chassis no. should give the date if you know the codes .....

the chassis number is on the firewall behind the head , pretty sure thats for all markets except Australian made cars, check for a secondary chassis number on either strutt tower, or a US style vin on the dash top near a lower corner of the windscrean. it is a '73. Fairly sure only Oz cars had plates ( they were Chrysler plates) some (all??) Dodge and Plymouth had vin plate and a plate on the door but not like Chrysler Oz ones

Only number is on the firewall behind the head. No other visable markings. No plates what so ever.

Can someone give me the decipher code and ill be able to tell ya exactly what it is as dont really wanna put the numbers up on the forum.

Pretty sure that the VIN is also the build number. So if yours is A53H-002156 then it is the 2156th A53 hardtop built.

I had a look at the number on my car it's A52 H0114885 - does this mean it's an earlier model or differnet engine size?
