My car :)

Post by tommyhagenb »

Hi! My name is Tommy, i'm 26, lives in Norway. Last summer i bought this 77 model Galant 2.0 l SL. I love the car, and has been a veteran carfan for many years. And the japanees cars are all that matters

The car is 100% rustfree, and has only 94" km on the chassie. The car is as good as the pictures says. I spendt some hours on the car, and are really happy with it.

My plan for the car is to change the engine. I really want to put a v8 in there, but I dont think it's gonna happen

I'll problably end up with a newer model Mitsubishi engine. Havent quit figured out whitch one. Any ideas ?
Feel free to give feedback and ideas to make the car sweeter

And I'm really glad to see so many nice mitsus out there. Keep'em on the road

Hope the pic works (big pictures!!!)

Wow. No rust  . I guess the climate in Norway is drier than the rainforest on the Central Coast :) . Very nice car - welcome to the site.

Yeah, i was thinking about that a while ago, but if you do a nice and tidy job installing the new engine, I think it would just make the car nicer. And I want something that goes just a little bit better and maybe fills out more of the enginebay:) I can pack a whole little family in there.

That's a REAL BEAUTY.....and I had thought everything
up that way rusted to bits in about 10 years. Yea hang
onto it as original I'd reckon, should get you a sheila or
two down at your local Chrysler or Mitsubishi car club.

Thanks :) hehe, well I'm glad the steeringwheel is on that side :)

Yeah, normally things rust up here, the good thing is that our winters are normally dry, so if you put some efford into it, you can keep your car nice :)

Yeah I know. It's damn near impossible to find that badge. But the look has grown on me, and I like it. Just black.
I also got a spare grill, but thats a different type, I'll see if I can find one on here.

Oh the joy of toying with someone who isn't accustomed to Australianisms.

Sheilas seem like a good idea at the time, but after a while you begin to think that you could possibly have done without them.

They cost you a hell of a lot of money. At first you don't mind. You think it's worth it considering all the added benefits of having a sheila around. But again, after a while that begins to wear thin as the 'benefits' dry up.

Oh and you can't get greedy either. If you want more than one sheila at a time you're just asking for trouble (but if you can pull it off it's a hell of a lot of fun)

Kinda like owning a Classic Car really.

I love it!
There is just something special about 2 door galants.
Good to see there is still some fans of mitsubishi classics in your part of the world. But please don't ruin such a beautiful car with a v8. If you must, a nice 4g63 would make her sing
Needs GA or GB galant front cut to resurrect a GTO. Please help if you can

I was thinking about taking the engine out of a 90-94 galant gti or maybe the same year colt gti. I'd have to build new enginemounts since they are fw driven, but all is possible ;)

Was also thinking about putting on a L300 diff.

The reason for my car choices is that there is really hard to get a hold of old galants/lancer's (1980-) in my neck of the woods. Would you or anybody her know what my options are ? I'm preferably looking for something witch will slide right in there :)

Would be sweet with something witch will rev a little and I wanna get up to at least 125 HP :)

Thats a sweet car you have there.
Exactly the same as mine but someone put your steering wheel on the wrong way, lol. And mine is white.
Your car is the only one I have ever seen with the X2 interior, mine has the exact same seats as yours and on the ID plate it says X2 option.
Anyone else know about these seats? As far as I can tell everyone elses coupes are vinyl?

If you ever want to sell your badges Tommy let me know, lol
