Galant Panhard rod Install

This may belong in the suspension section, but it only applies to galants and lancers so I put it here.

Anyways i just finished putting a panhard rod into my galant and GOD DAMN it handles awesome now!
Less understeer, holds a MUCH tighter line through corners, can get on the gas way earlier and it drives real nice on the throttle were before it would snap oversteer, now it just hangs out nice and you can really drive it on the throttle.

Its a stock r31 skyline panhard rod, custom chassis mount made from rhs steel and a bolt welded to the spring pad.

One end is stuck to the rail on the passenger side, other one is at the spring leaf pad.

i hav a ajustable commy P.rod wood that work?

My fab skills aint good enough to go round making brackets
Bracket is just some square steel basically with a corner cut off to allow extra travel for the spring and holes drilled through for the panahard rod to bolt to.

nice idea in theory, but not sure about the angle that your bar is running on, looks way to steep. this would be mean that over every bump the panhard rod is trying to push the suspension sideways a lot, something will break!
having the bar flatter when at rest will have the best results

Yea the bar angle is steep, but that lets me run a much longer bar. Longer bar means the sideways movement total is reduced.
Problem is lack of space, if the bar angle was better, it would have to sit way too low an would give me a roll centre much too low, would also need to be a much shorter bar so would mean the arc it travels in sideways would be greater.

Its basically a massive compromise but i assure you it is HIGHLY effective.

Ideally I would have a custom watts linkage mounted behind the diff on the body, but that would need a custom fuel tank for that.

What roll center height did you set it up at?

Roll centre is about at the centre axle line, so actually not really different to what it was prior to the panhard rod being installed, Its as high as it can possibly be using this layout.

Handling and rear end grip is crazy good. The acceleration available mid corner and on exit is crazy good. Just hooks up and can be driven on the throttle real nice. Previously it would just have grip, then would reach its limit very abruptly and snap oversteer.
