Colt / Galant

Post by Galantman »

righto guys. ive finally got back into the galants as a daily driver. Just wondering if anybody knows the story behind GD galants that have colt badging on them, eg guards and door sill/ carpet lip covers. are they imported versions? certainly doesnt seem to be anything special about this shitter. no stereo, no tacho. exactly the same as my GC with galant badges.

PS HOPEFULLY with the boss selling my work ute and me working wiht him again, i'll be getting a bit more cash in the pocket and get the yellow beast back up and running. better than ever with more mods!

Could be an import. I have seen a few over the years. Can you post any pics?

posting pics takes effort, SFA to be gained by them. its just a shitter of a GD with colt badges rather than galant. it cant be that hard to imagine that it looks identical, unless you are 3m away and read the name on the badges

I though the US versions were colts.

The US version was called a colt but it looked quite different. Different grill, huge big ugly bumper bars that sat out further and I've seen coupes that have completely different rear ends. They resembled Datsun Sunny liftbacks (ick!) without, erm, the liftback part.

Google image search a Dodge Colt and you'll see what I'm on about.

I have seen GA colt galants but not GD. My guess is it's a jap import or more likely, a Kiwi import. Those lucky bastards got a whole swag of different variants.

Check your compliance plate. That'll tell you where it was built.
