How to 'Upload' a picture or video

Post by GC75 »

Guide for the people that don't know how to upload pictures.. if rocket science ain't your thing step way now.

Firstly:
Your going to need a site to host the picture on. This basically stores the file (picture) on a website which routes to a computer eventually or somehow Laughing
Some sites i suggest are:

Now that you've decided which site your going to upload your picture to you should see a button saying [UPLOAD] Click this and it shall show your files on your computer. You then navigate to where the file (picture) is on your Hard Drive. Once found click ok then upload.

Should take around 30 seconds depending on your connection.
(I usaully save my files as .png as its a smaller file size, therefore a quicker upload.)

Secondly
You'll be left with some links. There are several types of 'links' these uploading websites will display.
They are as followed:
A direct link to the image, a "show your friends" link, a 'thumbnail' link or an image link (this one is denoted by the "Image

Great, I was just wondering how to do it. Might have a look at it in a few days when I have more time. The only place I put pic's at the moment is Facebook, so may try using that. Just looking at the pic's here has made me self conscious about how dirty the wagon was, so I washed and polished it! :)

Just an update for those that have photos on Facebook accounts.
Facebook is usable as a photo storage site.

To upload the pics:
1: select the source album you want the pic from
2: click on the pic you want to upload
3: right click on the pic and select 'copy image URL'
4: paste the link into your topic on SG and apply the image tags so it looks like this [img]http://sphotos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-a ... 5469_n.jpg[/img]
5: preview you post to check that it works.

I've been using this method for quite a while now, and find it much more convenient then using a photo storage site.
Of course those who don't have Facebook accounts, anywhere that a pic can be viewed, the same method would apply.

Be aware: If you rearrange your albums on FB or delete them then the links no longer work.
