I like the brown one with white roof and white walls, and yours of course Dave.
I saw a very tidy white GC wagon with turbo wheels Saturday in Para Hills, anyone here?????

The one with the white roof has been photo shopped. It sits way higher then that. I remember seeing the original pic somewhere.

I really like the yellowy green one on the top row (astronturbo77's car or was).

Do you want to sell it?

Looks like canberra in the 70's? I went to a few rallys back then and they had new roads with no houses for miles.

Yeah I'm guessing Canberra as well.
Looks similar to one of the stages when it was the Esanda rally in the late eighties for memory but I'm guessing this photo was taken before then.

Definitely Canberra, either 78' or 79' Castrol International - the crowds were huge for Ari Vatanen and Greg Carr etc in the BDA's. There is some fantastic footage in the film made for Castrol (probably on youtube, though I haven't looked) called '40 Split Seconds' - several 10,000 RPM BDA Escorts and Datto's lifting wheels on the bitumen stages - in-car with Vatanen, Brocky in the 'Round-Oz Crummydore etc. - no Galants though :(

Cheers, S

that wood hav had to hurt!
the only thing it hurt was my heart. thankfully had the drivers window down and ended up with just a 10mm long scratch on my elbow. it looks a LOT worse than it really was, thanks to my mates abilities to kick doors in and jump on the roof. i still have the boot lid today, perfect condition, no scratches or dents.

was registered for all of 2 days before this happened, wasnt happy!!!

dodgy ignition barrel, worn keys. windy road with 5m drop into paddock. put all that together and you get keys on the floor, steering lock+ corner= slide down bank on the arse of car, front hits fence and is enough to flip car onto roof. thank god for the upgraded brakes, or i wouldnt have got down to 60 before going over. bonus was that it prompted me to get a better shell to do up, hence the yellow galant. pity that i still havent got motivated to get it back going after it got flogged and recovered and having to give all my money to paying off the house, 1 day!!!!!

WHOLLY CRAP!

That is unbelievable that you had that much bad luck all at once.
I'm sorry to hear it. :(

What stage are you up to with the yellow car? How long till it's a goer?
