Re: has anyone ever succesfully removed
The bonnet chrome strip is held on with screws (open bonnet and look under).
The trim on the top of the door may be held on with a small screw not sure :? (need to open door to get at it) and metal clips. Remove screw if found and gently pry straight up.
The gutter trim is clipped over the metal gutter. Un-clip along the bottom edge working your way along the trim (don't try pulling it off or it will bend).
The door sill trim is held on with plastic clips and should un-clip by gently prying along the bottom edge. These clips break easily and most of these trims now have a screw at one end or the other.
If you have side protection moldings, they are held on with a small metal retainers (need to remove a small nut inside boot, inside door/doors and inside of front guard) the remainder of the protection molds are held on with small clips and should come off with gentle prying along the bottom edge.
Hope this helps (The last time I removed the trims from a galant was about 25 years ago).
hopefully someone can confirm this or supply more current info.
