4g32 in Gd galant ignition coil ballast resister...

Hi guys... Been told i should have. Ballast resister on my coil. Never had one since ive owned car (maybe why its never ran too well). I cant seem to find any info on them. Anyone else able to tell me whats on thier setup?

The only thing I have my ballast resistor hooked up to is the fuel cut solenoid on my carbs.
I have always been of the understanding it limits voltage. The solenoids are not supposed to have anymore then 9V supply to them (by my research).

Yeah. I was told the point of the resister on the ignition was so when starting the car it has initial 12v then once its started it limits to 9v. But if your not running one either i probably wont bother.
