GA Galant Speedo Not woking

Hi guys, I was wondering whether anyone can tell me if the clusters or the speedo drive cables are more prone to failing causing GA speedos to stop working. I am about to buy PHILS GA and just wondering where I'll start.

New cables arnt a problem , as lomg as you have a sample broken or not
Its unlikely to be the cluster

Simple test is just unscrew the cable out of the gearbox and pull/rotate the internal cable. That will tell you if its the cable or the transducer (speedo drive in gearbox) as that can be a fault point as well.

@DAVE >>>you better believe it. I have waited 20 years to find one and this is going to be my third child! Took long enough to get approval from the Minister of Interior Affairs ( read wife ) too. I can assure you it will be VERY much loved and cared for. This car has been nothing short of a dream for 20 years and now I am getting one I have already started to look at paint, side draughts and bucket seats. the rest is staying as....no molesting a good car here. Any in Melbourne here got a set of bucket seat that'd suit a GA BTW? and do the GB/C/D bolt straight on in the original rails or do you need to mod the rails?
