astron 1 cracks 100hp atw

haha so my mildly build 2.6 astron 1 went up on the dyno at work yesturday and i was wrapped only took it 5000grand haha i was very supprised that it made what it did. let us know what u think.

balance motor.
balance shaft removal.
flat top pistons
extractors into 1inch2/4 exhaust.
exh port and polish
some sort of very small carb. it is a holly
a stage 1 turbo cam orgianlly from the old motor

still wanna have the engine nice and reliable so the carb and mechanical fuel pump has to go. if i come across some twin carbs for that motor ill deff pick them up. i do have all the efi gear to put on it but cbf. Im currently picking up a freshly built 4g63 short block soon and start the build on that. power figure isnt really a worry. the 2.6 i wanna see better figures of just 100hp. but im glad it even made that. see what i can get out of it with very little of money spent and the help of my performance shop i work will do the treat.

the EFI will definately help to up the power figure....and the effeciency of the motor as well

Changing the mechanical pumps (namely fuel and water) to electric will free up some lost power and effeciency there too


Not to mention, the Astron I 2.6 has a cr of just 8.2:1.......ram up the cr to a high 9 (or even a 10+ if ur keen on running 98ron fuel all the time) and u'll get alot more power AND fuel economy on that alone

If the work is done properly.....I'd expect to see 150hp (maybe more) very reliably before u start affecting its practicality in terms of maintainance
