GC carpet

Hey guys wondering where people have gotten their carpet from im looking at redoing mine as its falling apart so post websites or anything that would help cheers

I got mine from Exact-Fit via ebay.
They should consider changing their name. It was like fitting a pig into a rhino costume. Nothing fitted, the join between the seats was too short and left a gap, big and baggy over the tunnel and around the foot well and it has done maybe 2000ks on the road, every other minute it is in the shed and the rubber foot mat has faded from red to pink.
I have just last week booked it in at a motor trimmers to get it professionally done from scratch.

So I guess I didn't answer your question but I may have saved you some money and a mistake.

That's for a ga/b but the floor pans are the same..

But if you're real picky, you can go back into the listings on the same site and get the gc/d ones

That is what I thought too Jordan, turns out the $160 could have went towards a profession fit, lol

Knox is ok. They make them oversize so you have to trim them. But make sure you tell them to make the firewall end 15cm longer so it goes all the way up. I conplained about that

I also used Knox, and found them to be quite good (I bought the GC listing). The carpet is good quality, and while it is oversize, it does actually fit quite well. As Jason mentions though, carpet trimming is a tough job, and while I am happy with mine, it is easy to make mistakes (like cutting off a bit too much excess, and only just making it fit nicely under the door sill trimming!). If you can get them to make it slightly longer at the firewall, do this, as it's the only place that the carpet is short. For me it wasn't a big deal, as I've got some air-conditioning components in and under my parcel shelf that more than cover the ends of the carpet, but if it was just a parcel shelf, there'd probably be a gap.

Also, look at doing some underlay too, as it helps with fitting the carpet, reduces road noise, and makes the carpet feel nicer too. I used a commercial floor carpet underlay (one that looks like a bunch of cotton offcuts all pressed together), and this worked fine, but I think Knox also does underlays too.

Good luck! I've carpeted two cars now (the GC and my brothers VW Beetle), and it's definitely a big job, but relatively straight forward, particularly if the mouldings are set right :-)
