2Ltr sigma motor into GD HELP!

Post by ssive »

Hi all,

Bought myself a 2 litre sigma motor (was an auto) and want to mount it up to my 4speed thats in my galant currently...

Pulled the flywheel and clutch off the 1.6 BUT, the galant is a 5 stud mount, and the sigma is a 6 stud..
Do i just need a flywheel off a 2 ltr motor? Will my clutch mount to that??

Thanks!

Apparently you use a 2l fly and clutch. But I could be wrong. And yes your 4 speed will bolt up to it :)

id say be safe and try and find a 2lt flywheel and clutch, the 4G63 one will most likely be different again, but i might be wrong

A narrowblock g54 flywheel could work, the g63 flywheel would require milling the center hole to fit the pilot bearing. The swap is pretty straight forward though and yes get the 2L clutch kit. If you look at my '75 wagon build thread, I did this same swap already. Only the g52 was out of my 77 wagon which was also auto ;).

The only narrowblock 2.6 flywheels are from Magnas (FWD's are always Narrow block).

Can anyone confirm a Magna 2.6 manual flywheel will fit a 2.0 motor?

Dave...

Forgot you guys didn't get narrowblock manuals in RWD like we did.
