Mine's not an MR (same tailights though) - the brake lights are inside.

Cheers,

i could be wrong...but i thought it was regulation to put the brake lights as far out as possible...so other people to see the width of the car and to denote 2 seperate brake lights

I'd say inside, so the turn indicators are on the corners (I know GC tails don't follow this concept as do some cars).

Most pics online seem to have two red lights so it is hard to tell. None of the brochures I have have pics from the rear :(

This was the only clear pic I could find and it looks like brake lights outside.

Oops, you're quite right.
After seeing this thread again, I went out to the garage to check mine and the brake lights are.......ahem.... on the outside....... :$

You can always have all the lenses clear...and simply paint the globe the appropriate colours (with the specific globe paint of course)

Thanks Scorpma, I just read your comment and was sick in my mouth.
Clear tails are for VR/S and VT Commondores and that is all :P

On a brighter note, I think (and happy to be corrected) that the A53C's had two red rear lights and the A55C's had red and orange??
A57C's had the strip lights?

Strip lights for the A57C's is a definate, although trim does appear to vary!

My stock lights came with a black surround although other models appear to have chrome surrounds,

I prefer the chrome so whilst Affa is restoring me a set i've gone chrome with those :D

Didn't The Lexus Altezza start the clear tail light craze??? :P

Clear taillights IMO do look good......PROVIDING it suits the theme of your build
