GTO Model Cars

Post by DanTurboLancer »

Hey guys i happened to find these online for sale cheap, thought some of you might be interested

1975 Galant GTO-GSR

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1-32-ARII-48-GAL ... 414c0f87d4

Check out that Ebay sellers Store to find both the 1970 and 1975 GTO Galants Plastic jits that you paint and put together yourself.

EDIT -

Or you can check out this stores page.
they are in Sydney(parramatta)
And you can order online!
I called the owner and he is a very friendly and helpful guy!

http://www.sherriffsminicars.com.au/

Oh and this is the store Dave - 75Wagon directed me to.
And where i found the LA GSR Lancer too.
Takes abit of searching through to locate what you want, or just call them.

cheers dan

These are Diecast pre built models if I'm not mistaken.

That's probably why you are having problems if you are looking for plastic kits.

Do you know how accurate the scaling is on the model, is it fairly accurate to 1:1 scale galants.

I'm, interested in buying it but plan on using it in a diaorama so it will look funny if slightly off compared to the other cars

The scale for the 4 door and the 2 door are on the box as the same, but the 2 door is huge by comparison.
Look at the difference in size between them, the boxes are exactly the same size.

If so I can dig them back out from the bottom of the cupboard and measure the length and width if you like?

if you wouldn't mind that would be good but don't worry about it too much, there is a definite size difference.
IS this the only galant hardtop available around 1:24 in plastic?

As far as I know?

Sizes of the body alone are:
177mm long
70mm wide
48mm high.
I don't know if you have seen or heard of them, but the body is a perfect fit on a Plafit slot car chassis .

I was thinking of setting this body up on the Plafit chassis I have. Unfortunately the closest track to race at is 45mins away :banh:
I used to race slot cars years ago, I still have all my stuff, but the local track burnt down. It's a shame, it's a good way to have some competitive fun. You'd be surprised how quick some of these cars can be.

Yeah, that price is a bit steep, he has a few cool models in his store. All a bit rich though

I have some more to my collection, not all Mitsubishi but pretty cool anyway. IMO, lol

Not a GTO but still cool. It's about 200mm long and the roof lifts off where cigarettes were previously kept and is meant to play a tune. I still have to fix the music box mechanism.
