GJ Sigma Heater Valve Tap

Post by tonycrouch »

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a suitable replacement for a GJ Heater Valve Tap.

Mine is frozen and as a result always blows freezing cold air into the cabin.

I did have a look at the Gates website for an aftermarket one :

But wasn't sure if any would be suitable (or the universal one would fit).

Is anyone able to shed a bit more light on which heater valve tap would fit?

Cheers,

i didnt have much luck finding any universal fit after market ones that would fit without minimal work, best bet is to get a second hand one out of a younger car like a GN  same set up

some one else may of had more luck or may have more to say on this ?

Hi, its been a long time between posts.
After a fair bit of searching I can testify that a XW/XY heater tap will fit with minimal mods and will save anyone else going down this path a lot of time.

The Sigma cable attachment (bit that normally turns on the heater tap when you move the heater controls) and valve slider both have to be used.
The falcon one is to large and hits on the heater box, also the slider works in the opposite direction to the sigma one (ie cable extends, closing the valve)
Both the centre hole on cable attachment, mounting bracket and the slot on the slider from the sigma assembly need to be opened up about 1-2mm.
