2.6 l engine build

Post by Goz101 »

Hi all,

I've decided to keep the carby setup on my Gh turbo.

I am going to rebuild the wide block 2.6 L that's in it but need some of your thoughts on the following;

1. What parts are recommended for lowering compression.

At the moment bottom and has flat pistons with decompression plate.

I know there is a lot of talk about deco plate but I had it on cordia turbo for many years and never had any issues.

I was told if I need to lower compression to use dished pistons and a quality gasket.

What is your opinion on this?

Where do I buy a set of dished pistons for 4g54?

2.I've been advised to use Magna M7 head.

Is this of TR magna?

3.Will this head have any issues with dished pistons?

4. With Magna head M7, I was told they have roller rockers

I was advised by the previous owner to use M7 head but to get rid off the roller rockers and use the existing camshaft and rockers of the current engine.

camshaft is aftermarket etc etc

5.I am missing a clamp that holds the pipe in place between turbo and intake manifold.

Can you buy this or has to be made?

Also I need clamps that connect carby to turbo

and

clamp that connects turbo and exhaust

Thank you all.

pretty sure same size for original TO3. Just V band clamps
Mine were "Voss" ones . Were $50 each a way back. Mike Vine might still have a few.
