strut help

Post by Rokinfreekapotamus »

Theres a GH sigma at my local wreckers and I've been looking for green struts, or black ones with removable caliper brackets. Its not in a great position so its a bit difficult to work out which one they are especially for how much of a rookie I am. Has someone got some pictures comparing the 2 do I can work out if there what im after all the info has confused me a little so I figue some pictures might clear it up for me.

Thanks guys
Luke.

Green strut types have a steel bracket that bolts onto the strut at the bottom near ball joint flange, it mounts around stub axle with four bolts..then caliper slide mounts onto that with two bolts..
Other style has a forged "one piece" stub at the bottom which only has two bolts holding on the caliper slide.

Pic 2 is non green (except gh has 3 bolt ball joint but looks the same basically)
pic 4 is the bolt on green strut style

Thanks, that clears it up a bit more. Although the one at the wreckers has a 3 bolt base but it looks more like the 2 bolt one from the back. But I'll go hve another look and look harder

why do you want green struts
There is no advantage with green struts over any other Sigma strut
GH Sigma, 16" Mesh wheels, sports steering wheel and a V8 exhaust
