Are you running a fuel pressure regulator? These Webers require a max of about 3psi, and your stock mechanical fuel pump is probably more, my Triton pump was 12psi I think. Ended up using a Holley regulator at 3 psi, then bought an electric fuel pump rated at 3.5psi.

Just to clarify the topic title, you're using an XE/XF Weber carby, EF Falcons never came with carbies, only EFI. Also, these Webers have a model number of 34ADM and have two intake ports of 34mm each for a total of 68mm. I would only recommend these if you're after more power (sacrificing fuel economy) compared to the Escort/Cortina 2 litre's Weber 32/36, which has the smaller primary port of 32mm for when you just want to coast around (and have better fuel economy) and then the larger 36mm port opens when you put the foot down. Both carbies still have a total intake port (combined size) of 68mm.

Keep in mind also that these are an improvement on the stock Mikuni/Solex carby, but to get most of these Webers, I suggest a 2 1/4" exhaust (any bigger and you loose power because of lower exhaust back pressure) and a mild camshaft (a stage 2 mild cam is recommended).

I installed one of these and didn't have a problem. 2.6 scorp with standard fuel pump.

Did you happen to get it from historicmusclecarparts on ebay
He tells me it is genuine webber but everyone tells me its ford falcon
you used standard fuel pump interesting as I was thinking maybe to much pressure
historicmusclecarparts thinks I may have a vacume leak on inlet manifold

The XE/XF Falcon carbies ARE genuine Italian-made Webers. I've seen on many online sources that these Webers are happy to run anywhere between 3 and 4psi of fuel pressure. Stock fuel pressure on standard Astron Mikuni carbies is around 6psi according to my factory service manual.
