I have been able to fit a 450 wide one and some 90 degree silicone bends although i got an intercooler with offset outlets to have a bit more space to fit it. I also fabricated a lower mounting bracket from some 60x60x5mm angle and did a lot of cutting to make it fit. I haven't finished the installation of it yet and the bonnet catch is very close and i will have to put in some bonnet pins to make it legal as i had to cut off the secondary catch so it didn't damage the cooler.

I would recommend that you could use a 450x300x90 core but i used the offset cause i was just keeping the same holes i had from the old intercooler. You still have to do some cutting to fit it but you have very short piping.

Ive been told by a few people that bonnet pins are actually illegal (pedestrian hazard or something, but ide be more worried about a full metal non crumple bonnet lol) But then again you are in QLD so it may be different for you (im in NSW)

Not all bonnet pins are illegal. The pins designed for the xb falcons are legal because they sit flush with the bonnet. There is also a company who makes flush mounted pins but they look a bit too ricey to put on a sigma and belong more on an excel. http://www.aerocatch.com/

i think mine was a 450x220x70. i had very few issues with fitup. Only thing i cut was the holes for the hoses to come through along side the radiator.

It sat perfect with the factory sigma turbo oil cooler in place and left room for approc 100 to 150mm of radiator airflow below. In traffic and on hot days im very thankful i didnt bother with jamming some huge chunk of intercooler in there.

Dont buy the bullshit about needing the hose at bottom or any of that crap due to heat transfer. When your talking a poofteenth of a degree over a 300mm tall cooler from top to bottom the shorter pipe work and easier cut ease of access makes up for it ten fold.

Unless your running boost in excess of 25psi and serious strip work you dont need a huge cooler on a siggy mate. Keep it sleeper and buy to suit the void you have. mine was $150 on ebay and i cant fault it.

see my efi thread about 1/3 the way down mate for pics n details

I would actually agree that the 450x240x70 intercooler would actually be a better size for the sigma as it makes fitting it so much easier. The only reason for going for the offset tanks was because of already having holes in those positions from the previous supra intercooler setup and i didn't want the car looking like swiss cheese.

I can go measure mine tomorrow if you like and get some photos. Pretty sure nothing has been cut that matters and it is fairly big..

thats a 450x300x76, which i measured up and fits very nicely
thats the cooler i went with, same seller too

they look to be made pretty well, and the shiny finish was pretty good, but no use to me, as ya no, i roughed it up and painted it stealth mode :P

i am going to be running a garret gt35r with over 15psi boost so yeah i think the 450 will be a goer
I found that with how i mounted mine the extra 70mm would have been majority covered by bumper bar and a lil hanging below. IF your not running the factory turbo oil cooler it'll fit easy as and you should still be able to have some radiator flow below it.

As far as that turbo and that level of boost i dont see the relevance of needing more. I plan to run the same turbo and daily 16psi to 18psi with no expectation of issues with the 400x230x65.

I think with intercoolers so many people have gone for bigger is better, but without the increased surface area to airflow (cutting open the front) its actually a disadvantage IMO.

I think youve made a good choice keepin it smaller mate. :D

ive got a 450x300x76 core on my GK.

drilled 2 holes for the mounting bolts in the top rad support and had to take off the secondary bonnet catch.
with a little mod to the core it fits snug and required NO cutting of the body (little to the bumper support) to fit any of the pipe through.

painted it black and its farking hard to be seen from the front :)

This is 400 x 400 x 75 with 3 inch i /out mounted in my LC Lancer .
Had to do few very easy mods to have it fit.
Had to make stand offs at the bottom to the chassis, and make ally runner to re secure the vertical for the bonnet release crossover.(you have to bend it out)Bumper bar covers all perfectly.

I have no mounting points on the top...although it comes with 4 (2 top,2 bottom), i reckon that its very secure and no need to drill holes in that top crossover at all.
I had to move the battery location for the pipe to throttle body run , and wiper washer bottle on the left .

The bottom bracket , just custom bent steel bar with aluminium runner from my work, and solid ally pipe with holes drilled through to get the height right.

Ooops just realised I am in the sigma section ...sorry about that!
