Spinning the tops around 180 degrees increases your camber by 1.5 degrees on each side which makes cornering nicer, BUT, makes straight ahead feel vague. Spin them back & check your steering again.

your car has definatly had a dodgey wheel alignment man. someone has adjusted one side tierod end and not the other, so one steering arm is shorter than the other. get them to wheel align it propperly making sure each arm is the same lenght and you have an even amount or steering lock each way(right to left). after that is right remove the steering wheel and center it.

If you want to check your alignment at home, measure the distance between the front wheels at the front then at the back and compare. Should only vary by 1mm or less from memory.
If you want any sigma-galant.com stickers, then look here for how to get them sigma-galant.com stickers

Did the vehicle do this when you first got it?

If it isn't self centreing could be caused by a few things, naturally one being the steering box is shagged (quite possible with the age of these vehicles & that that oil is always forgotten about).

If the Idler arm bushes have been changed to nolathane items could add to it as well. The OEM is rubber which is moulded to the centre, with the nolathane being a bush - From what i have seen & experienced with my cars anyway...

Also, more castor will help to centre (and a few other effects of course).

Hope that is of some use.

all fixed ?
nah not yet bro,
pretty sure combination of things
me a dad reckon the belts to loose
cos it failed on weekend
at higher revs
and when slowed down worked again,
maybe pump too

box has been rebuilt
gonna have to get pump done too i think,
thought it done too, but was just box.

also all the other siggys with power steering we've seen
have metal piping that goes out near radiator and returns to pump.
missing from this one, but mounting holes there
look like been took of at some stage

but we got spare pump and shizz now, so hopefully sort it out soon

That "pipe" running out to the front is a basic oil cooler. Running without this pipe causes your power steering fluid to overheat.

Any small oil cooler will work fine as its only low pressure fluid running through it.

if the strut top is seized then replace it, then adjust your castor for better self centering.

Mine had the same self centering problem, replaced the steering box and it improved. The PWR STR in mine goes away when I give it a big rev. That would be in the pump.

thinking my whole problem was that the ppl who rebuilt the box
didnt bleed it, said it was self bleeding, why it have a bleeding alve on it then?
but told ppl bout it that did the engine, and seems fine now
won't know till the hotter weather though, becoz it seemed to fail when was hotter.
but working for now :D
