That'l teach me
It never pays to glote about something to do with Sigma's, without saying "touch wood " straight after making the comment.
A couple of posts back I was saying how well the Wagon goes, just like EFI.
Took it for a run yesterday. everything was perfect, as always Anyways, just as I was turning into my street, it started to miss, and the taco started to go bonkus. I just put it down to climate change and put it to bed, thinking that everything will be OK in the morning
Well that was the last time it actually run . No spark at the plugs, and nothing at the Coil. Changed the coil, made no difference
Everything in the dizzy is OK. Only thing left is the control module. I have a spare but by this time I was over it and just shut the bonnet and closed the shed. Maybe later
And I am open to suggestions ;)

It will be the module or the coil. Check wiring as well.

Yes I tried that. After I did it the clutch started to slip real bad.sigmare wrote:Try bleeding the ignition leads
I replace the coil and module a couple of years ago when I had issues.karl_2ltgc wrote:It will be the module or the coil. Check wiring as well.
It finished up being a burnt and cracked rotor button. Was arching down the side of the rotor. Put the old coil back in with no luck. So the module goes in tomorrow night. Fingers crossed

Sorry, don't want to hijack, but, how do you bleed ignition leads.

If your ignition wiring is still OEM, check the fusible links in the wiring loom behind the battery. They sometimes overheat & burn & eventually break. Or the connectors to the fusible links often have a poor connection. ;)
I'm here for a good time, not a long time !

Swap the dizzy. I reckon its the little trigger thingy that picks up the 4 bits that spin round.

I have just never heard the term used before.
So, in reading it, it looks like a mistake. :?

Re: That'l teach me
A couple of years back I had a bad misfire and the odd backfire that sounded like it would blow the muffler aprart. Thats when I replace most of the ignition circuit with new bits. Made no difference until I had a dizzy rebuild by Scortcher in Vic. Havent had a hint of a problem since.karl_2ltgc wrote:Swap the dizzy. Until this little episode
So the dizzy is only a couple of years out from a rebuild. I am going to go through all of the connections from the battery to the coil. And there are plenty of them.

Well happy to say it was the control module. Started first kick. Hasnt done that for a while The GN has to control monule on the side of the dizzy. The failing Tacho is a good indication of a control module problem bacause the tacho gets its signal from the module.
